Poppy Day Painting - Art for Remembrance Day Song

This beautiful Poppy Fields painting by Teresa Scannella is partly responsible for the 'Remember Poppy Day' song, which is why it is so appropriate to have it as the featured artwork for the CD and video.

Teresa is one of the artists featured on Chris Grace's Surrey Artists website. Chris had been watching recent television documentaries about the bravery of people involved in the wars and when he saw Teresa's painting. It made him think far more deeply about Remembrance Day than he had for a long time. Chris said 'it made me feel guilty that I rarely remember to stop for the 2 minutes silence because society has changed so much'
This led to the poem and subsequently the single which we hope will gently encourage people to take two minutes of their lives on Armistice Day or Remembrance Sunday, to remember the sacrifices of those who have fought or died in the wars.

Teresa's art is now available as prints, posters and greetings cards, with 50% of profits going to Alzheimer's Society. Here's the link to View or Buy Art & Cards.
This will be a matter of great pride for Teresa, since it was with a view to raising funds for The Altzheimers Society that she started painting. The above art titled 'Pyrford Poppy Fields' and the painting below of Bluebell Woods are two of her works which she has undertaken for this cause.
The Alzheimer's Society works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Many of the 25,000 Alzheimer's Society members have personal experience of dementia, as carers, health professionals or people with dementia themselves, and their experiences help to inform our work.
